Support Unit
Mount Warrigal Public School is proud to host a vibrant Support Unit consisting of four classes — one Early Intervention Unit (EIU), one Intellectual Disability (IO) class, and two Multi-Categorical (MC) classes. Each class is led by a dedicated teacher and School Learning Support Officer (SLSO), with up to eight students in each class.
Our Support Unit provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student is valued and supported to reach their full potential. Students engage in the NSW curriculum, guided by Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that reflect their unique learning needs and strengths. Learning is hands-on and engaging, with a strong focus on play-based learning, daily fitness, and building practical life skills.
One of our students favourite initiatives is Warrigal Eats, our weekly cooking program. Students plan, prepare, and cook a range of meals and snacks, which are then sold to the wider school community. Through Warrigal Eats, students develop essential skills in literacy, numeracy, teamwork, and communication while fostering independence and confidence.
Our Support Unit is an integral part of Mount Warrigal Public School, with students regularly participating in whole-school activities and events, ensuring a strong sense of connection and belonging.
